February 2007 - Salt Cay, Turks & Caicos.
Turks Air in conjunction with the community of Salt Cay and local businesses, Island Thyme Bistro, Salt Cay Divers and Windmills Plantation flew the first freight flight from Miami to Salt Cay via Providenciales on February 7.
A vintage, one of a kind, DC-4 aircraft landed on schedule at 11:30 AM in its inaugural flight to Salt Cay. Those in attendance for this historic occasion were Ms. Dottis Arthur, District Commissioner; Mr. David Wilson, Constable; Mr. Deveraux Malcolm, the PNP Candidate for Representative for Salt Cay; as well as the owner of Turks Air, Mr. Rodney Thompson. Local residents of Salt Cay were present along with various business owners.
This cooperative effort between Turks Air, Providenciales & Miami, in conjunction with the residents and businesses of Salt Cay provides reliable air freight service from Florida direct to Salt Cay.
